Five habits that keep jewellery looking new

Put jewellery on last and take it off first. Perfume, hairspray and lotion dull stones and metal, so let them dry before you dress.
Remove pieces before swimming, exercising or cleaning. Chlorine and sweat can discolour metal and loosen settings over time.
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch. Diamonds scratch everything softer than themselves, including other jewellery.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. For a deeper clean, see our jewellery care guide.
Have settings checked once a year. A loose claw is easy to tighten and costly to ignore.
